Mal soon progressed up to general warehouse hand until the installation of our bottling plant in 2004 when he proved how good he really was and was promoted to Warehouse Manager. Here, with the assistance of his staff he keeps the bottling plant running at optimum efficiency.
Mal lives in Mount Barker with his wife Sian, their two teenagers and their old dog "Beau".
Tony Cloke, European Brand Manager
Born in Australia and based in London, Tony is responsible for Plantagenet Wines’ British and European markets. Tony worked in Sales and Marketing in various industries before his passion for wine led him toward a career in the wine trade.
Following four years with a large UK distributor as a Brand Manager to New Zealand and French Brands, Tony decided he’d rather work with Australian wine and so took his position with Plantagenet.
When away from work Tony can be generally be found at home with his wife Lou and son Oliver or battling it out on the golf course.
Joanne Dipane, Marketing and PR Coordinator
A new addition to the team, Joanne joined Plantagenet Wines in the role of Marketing and PR Coordinator in early April 2010.
Coming from a background of marketing and events positions in the hospitality industry within both Australia and abroad, Joanne has a full appreciation for wine and now enjoys sharing the fabulous selection offered by Plantagenet.
Jo can be found working in the Plantagenet Wines Marketing office in Fremantle. When away from her desk she enjoys travelling and spending time with her partner Aidan and staffy, Stu.
Lisa Clode, Cellar Door Manager
When Lisa moved to Plantagent Wines in 2008 it was a case of life taking her full circle for her first job as a young woman had been grape picking at Plantagenet Wines’ Bouverie vineyard.
“Mum and Dad migrated from England to a nearby property and I grew up with Plantagenet Vineyards as our neighbours.” Marriage then took Lisa to Perth for a few years. On returning with her husband and three children Lisa moved back into the wine industry by first working for Gilberts Wines and then Goundrey Wines. As Cellar Door Manager at Plantagenet Wines, Lisa’s extensive knowledge of the Great Southern region is particularly valuable.
Lisa Berry, Accounts and Exports Coordinator
Originally a Perth girl working in Sales and Administration for Telstra, Lisa, her husband and 2 children decided on a sea change and made the move down to Mount Barker four years ago.
After settling in, a friend introduced Lisa to Plantagenet Wines where she began her winery career working at the Cellar Door.
Since, Lisa has now moved into the position of our Logistics and Accounts Coordinator, and looks after all of the wineries Export orders, invoicing, as well as liaising with Warehouse and shipping companies to send orders out.
Lisa also handles all of the wineries accounts payable, payroll and Superannuation. Very multi skilled!
Lisa enjoys living in Kendenup with her family on a small hobby farm with a few sheep and an Alpaca called Nat. They have 2 Maltese Shitzu’s called Koda and Padmae and a Kelpie who helps on the farm called Kelsey.
Denise Devine, Accounts Controller
When Denise decided to leave the city life for a slower pace early in 2009 she chose to move to the area of Mount Barker. Within a few weeks of settling here Denise commenced at Plantagenet Wines as Accounts Controller.
Denise very much enjoys her new lifestyle and being part of a smaller work team.
“Working at Plantagenet Wines has provided me with the opportunity to learn about the wine industry and of course enjoy the wonderful Plantagenet wines.”
