Mal Kirkwood, Warehouse Manager
Mal is the man in charge of all the bottling, labelling and packing that takes place in the big shed at the back of the winery. He joined Plantagenet Wines in 2002 as a general vintage hand where his abilities were soon recognised and he was offered the position of cellar hand.
Mal soon progressed up to general warehouse hand until the installation of our bottling plant in 2004 when he proved how good he really was and was promoted to Warehouse Manager. Here, with the assistance of his staff he keeps the bottling plant running at optimum efficiency.
Mal lives in Mount Barker with his wife Sian, their two teenagers and their old dog "Beau".
Stuart Brookshaw, Australasian Brand Manager
Prior to joining Plantagenet Wines in 2007, Stuart had over 19 years working in the Australian and overseas wine industry.
Formally trained as a Sommelier in London, Stuart worked as Senior Sommelier with the Conran Group, running the wine lists of London restaurants Mezzo, Soho and Bluebird. He also created and launched some of Australia’s top restaurants, including Otto, Icebergs and Salt and received a number of service and wine list awards.

Tony Cloke, European Brand Manager
Born in Australia and based in London, Tony is responsible for Plantagenet Wines’ British and European markets. Tony worked in Sales and Marketing in various industries before his passion for wine led him toward a career in the wine trade.
Following four years with a large UK distributor as a Brand Manager to New Zealand and French Brands, Tony decided he’d rather work with Australian wine and so took his position with Plantagenet.
When away from work Tony can be generally be found at home with his wife Lou and son Oliver or battling it out on the golf course.
Rachel Williams, Marking Coordinator
Rachel joined Plantagenet Wines in 2007 in the role of Marketing Coordinator. After returning from travelling and living overseas, in January 2004, Rachel first joined the wine industry.
She spent time in sales and marketing roles for both Mount Barker and Margaret River wineries before joining Plantagenet Wines.
Rachel lives in Perth and runs the Plantagenet Wines marketing office in Fremantle. She loves to get down to the Great Southern as often as she can!
Lisa Clode, Cellar Door Manager
When Lisa moved to Plantagent Wines in 2008 it was a case of life taking her full circle for her first job as a young woman had been grape picking at Plantagenet Wines’ Bouverie vineyard.
“Mum and Dad migrated from England to a nearby property and I grew up with Plantagenet Vineyards as our neighbours.” Marriage then took Lisa to Perth for a few years. On returning with her husband and three children Lisa moved back into the wine industry by first working for Gilberts Wines and then Goundrey Wines. As Cellar Door Manager at Plantagenet Wines, Lisa’s extensive knowledge of the Great Southern region is particularly valuable.
Lisa Berry, Accounts and Exports Coordinator
New to the Plantagenet team, a history of Lisa will be uploaded shortly.
Denise Devine, Accounts Controller
When Denise decided to leave the city life for a slower pace early in 2009 she chose to move to the area of Mount Barker. Within a few weeks of settling here we snapped her up to be our Accounting Controller. With an extensive background in banking and finance we reckoned she would be a good choice for taking care of our accounts and we were right.
Denise very much enjoys her new lifestyle and being part of a smaller work team.
“Working at Plantagenet Wines has provided me with the opportunity to learn about the wine industry and of course enjoy the wonderful Plantagenet wines.”
When not working Denise swims, cycles, watches movies and goes to concerts.
