Plantagenet Wines are proud to announce they were voted one of Australiass Top 5 Value Brands of the Year.
In a recent sampling of 2195 wines worldwide, Wines and Spirits Magazine selected
Australia’s Top 5 which also featured d’Arenberg, behemoths Angoves, Penfolds and Yalumba.
In addition to the award Plantagenet’s 2008 Hazard Hill Semillon Sauvignon Blanc
and Omrah Unoaked Chardonnay were voted in the 100 Top Value Wines of the Year.
Awarded with 92 Points, Plantagenet’s 2008 Hazard Hill Semillon Sauvignon Blanc
was described having;
Clean, vibrant citrus flavours which bring out the sauvignon element
of this blend, ripe peach notes layering orange and lime.
Semillon adds fullness, along with stony leesiness.
Together they form a lithe and refind white,
an exciting wine made more so by its price.
Buy it by the case to serve with light fleshed fish or roast chicken.
Plantagenet’s 2008 Omrah Unoaked Chardonnay was awarded with 90 points.
“Everyone on our panel agreed this had lovely, pure chardonnay flavors
but we all described them differently: orange and lime leaf,
McIntosh apple or quince and kumquat or bright white peach.
It’s a bold stroke of flavor, something to catch now while
it’s young and fresh. The citrus zest character in the finish
will clean up after oysters and be great with grilled fish.”
