We are celebrating our 40th vintage this year! From humble beginnings in 1974 when we produced our very first Shiraz, we are now one of the most trusted wine brands in Australia and distribute our wines all over the world.
In true festive style, we are feeling quite generous and want to spread the love to all our Plantagenet fans out there. Check our page every morning from Monday the 26th of August right through to Friday the 4th of October and be in the draw to win daily prizes; wine, merchandise, exclusive tastings, dinners for two and annual wine club memberships. Each day of the 40-day Facebook celebration will represent a year since Plantagenet began and we will be telling you some wonderful stories alongside the competitions.
Plantagenet Wines recieved two Gold Medals in the recent Scoop magazine tasting.
See below for the reviews and scores.
Plantagenet 2012 Riesling 94pts – Gold Medal
This was star of the Qantas Wine Show of Western Australia with three trophies, including wine of the show, and marks a return to form for Plantagenet Riesling. It has intense lime blossom aromatics, lemon-lime flavours with a hint of Granny Smith apples, seamless structure and dry chalky acid to finish. Long, deep and classy.
Plantagenet 2010 Shiraz 93pts – Gold Medal
In most years, you can expect this to be one of the state’s finest shiraz. This vintage is bright with peppery, savoury, briary characters on the nose and palate, and hints of blueberry, mint and spice. A firm tannin backbone is balanced by smooth fleshiness.
