Plantagenet was the first winery in the Great Southern Region of Western Australia. The winery has developed an enviable reputation for producing elegant wines with complexity, finesse and balance since 1975.
Our aim is to produce the best wine possible - wine that is elegant, balanced, well-structured and complex. Wine that reflects our own distinctive cool climate vineyards within the Great Southern. Only premium fruit is selected for the Plantagenet range.
The goal is achieved by harvesting fruit at optimal ripeness, avoiding green and over ripe characters; along with sympathetic, no compromise, quality focused winemaking, in tune with the natural processes.
So our wines will be balanced, with a depth of lively flavour, seamless elegance, beguiling complexity and natural purity without an intrusion of oak or other winemaking artefacts.
From the crisp dry Riesling to the pepper and spice of the Shiraz, the Plantagenet wines can be enjoyed in the youth or cellared for further complexity.
Making wines that we hope will become hallmarks of the Great Southern.
