At Plantagenet, we went a little overboard two decades ago when we first came across the vineyard Omrah, so named after the striking and luxurious SS Omrah. The ocean liner spent 18 years sailing to and from Albany, Western Australia, ferrying settlers and soldiers to and from our shores.
Omrah embodies all that is best from the West of Australia; a pioneering spirit built from youthful enthusiasm and a lot of character. Plantagenet and our beloved Omrah are as fiercely independent as we are remote. Omrah now sails on our label in search of great grapes from Plantagenet’s excellent plantings throughout Western Australia, where vineyards are planted in some of the world's oldest soils and most pristine environments.
Over the past two decades Omrah has journeyed from strength to strength, prompting the release of straight Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir varietals, complementing and completing the Omrah Range which we believe to be full flavoured, fruit driven wines with complexity, finesse, balance and most importantly exceptional value for money.
Omrah is a bottle of serious fun, conceived to express the best from our part of Australia. We believe that Omrah is best drunk young and fresh, more so when shared with food, friends and conversation.
